After much contemplation and deliberation of the notion of sustainable growth in business, I’ve concluded that the path to sustainable growth for business, economy and community will be forged by us, the business owners, employers, employees, teachers, families, friends… it is up to us. As citizens of this closed system of a world, it is our responsibility to determine how we can live sustainability within it.
Business owners are the leaders of our economic communities. They generate the ‘energy’ on which our communities run. In order to ensure our communities are sustainable, our businesses must be sustainable.
This is not just an obligation, but a social responsibility. We are responsible for making decisions that are educated, socially just and fair, and do not impact the environment or lead to the further destruction of it.
Doing well by doing good.
Leaders must set an example. Leaders need to be pro-active. Not only do we have to do what is expected, but beyond. Leaders inspire and energize. We need to give back, educate, share what we with others in our communities and networks.
